Daniel for the first time in a while did not even look me in the eye as I wrapped up the post mission examinations. Cam was talking a mile a minute, a sure sign that something had gotten under his skin during the mission. Sam was flipping through a floor tile magazine and Teal’c was keeping his piece of tile warm.

“But I think it got really bad when suddenly we round the corner and Jackson is just standing there, not doing anything,” Cam said as fingered the jacket that was laying next to him.

“There was nothing I could do,” Daniel muttered. “The Stargate was gone. Of course we wouldn’t have had to panic if Mitchell had not provoked the natives. Nor would we have wound up on an enemy ship and had to practically shoot our way off.”

“I believe you had stated that posing as criminals would be an acceptable risk, DanielJackson,” Teal’c said from his side of the room.

“I think he is still trying to get hay out of his …shoes,” Sam said as she flipped through another picture.

“Ya well it’s better then the mud that seemed to go down your…. Let’s just say it could have gone better,” Daniel said, shooting Sam a look. I turned toward the charts and saw Sam catch Daniel’s eye. I wanted to ring all their necks – well maybe not Teal’c’s since he was being rational.

“Look you and Teal’c really don’t look like drug thugs,” Cam said, now getting exasperated again. I had the distinct feeling that this was not the first time they had the conversation. “I’m sorry, but you just look…. “

“Wholesome?” Sam supplied. “I suppose I should have brought an umbrella.”

I was lost. I kept my mouth and thoughts closed, simply arching my eyebrow as Cam sighed again. They had an assortment of cuts, which I set about cleaning. I started with Teal’c since he was the most accommodating.

“Look, I said I was sorry. And ok, so maybe introducing myself as ‘Mr. Shaft’ was not so hot either,” Cam said, waving his hand dismissively. Carolyn came in as Cam was talking and she snorted with disbelief. “It was my call sign.”

“Hey I did not say anything against it,” Carolyn said as she pulled the divider back. I shook my head.

“Hey you will hear nothing from me, twinkle toes.” I got a glare for that. Ok so maybe I would be buying dinner, but it was worth it to see Sam crack a smile and Daniel hide some laughter.

“Thanks, Brainy. Look, I miss calculated.”

“A lot,” Sam and Daniel said almost at the same time.

“No one told us they would not buy the thug thing. The whole missing Stargate thing was pretty interesting. Of course the exotic new drug we found rivals the best thrill rides.”

“Cam, sorry to break it to you, but you have never been thuggish in your life. Even with a do-rag and baggy jeans. Of course maybe you need to go to the south side of Kentucky wearing that,” I said pointing with an antiseptic patch at his get-up. “Then maybe you’d be considered dangerous.”

“Bay, you’re not helping.” Cam said. “The good thing is that we have all the gates back.”

“And some new enemies.”

“Can’t forget those. We were looking for some new ones.”

“Ok, ok… just rub it in.” Cam pulled his SGC jacket on and hopped off the table. He looked at Daniel and Sam and shook his head. “That was an adventure, by the way. It was fun; can’t deny that.” He left plunging his other arm through the sleeve.

Sam looked up from the magazine. “I would consider having warmer garb on than for our next adventure. Maybe something to hook the P-90 to; a hidden pocket for a 9mm or two. It was awkward to carry out everywhere; I am used to being able to hook and go.”

“I know. It's an interesting design. But you did not look bad.” Daniel pulled on his jacket too and left.

I smiled at Sam as she pulled the jacket tighter. “Boys, they don’t see the smallest amount of fabric one can say covers. They see the overly exposed skin.”

“Next time ask for something that does not gear toward ‘wardrobe malfunction-esque,’” I said shrugging.

“Next time I will over rule Cam’s wardrobe choices.”
